Argent

I think in another life I must have lived in a lovely Paris apartment with all the argent the maids could keep polished. This table full at the Paris Flea Market was just begging me to indulge my Southern love of silver. Well I had to walk right on by without so much as a teaspoon or napkin ring. Mon ami Mark was horrified to hear that! Maybe I'll return next visit and find a little something while I'm there looking for that lace scarf !

  1. Oh Virginia - any toast racks there? Love all that shiny "stuff". Beautiful!

  2. Scrumptious! Amazing silver and prices to match -- I love the patina on the old silver and you have captured it beautifully!

  3. Ooohhhhh ... just love that wonderful old silver! I agree -- I also have a Southern heritage and there's just something about beautiful serving pieces handed down through the years! I love browsing through old hotel silver, in particular. Yum.

  4. I don't even want to think about the time it takes to polish all that silver.

  5. Af, yes, silver! So beautiful, so elegant (I don't even mind polishing it). I was born in NYC, but the family is from Virginia—does that explain why I share your love of objets en argent?
