Today I pay homage to the divine macaron on my
Birmingham blog. Imagine that! Don't believe me? Well just shashay right over there and have a look. So what's good for Birmingham, must be good for Paris as well, so we'll just stop for a little visit at Macaron Heaven.....
Ladurée! Last January, you'll remember we had a grand
blogfest right there. Thé and petite macrons were consumed ( at a grand prix I might add! ). Well what's a few Euros when you're in this fabulous place with bons amis!

The daffodils on your Birmingham blog had me drooling, far more than the pastries! Ain't nothing like a southern spring, at least according to this Georgia girl.
Virginia, Virginia, Virginia!
What ever is «Louis» going to do with you?
Making him long for macarons at Ladurée accompanied by their hot chocolat à l'ancienne?
You should be ashamed of yourself for stirring up so much Paris-lust in poor ol' «Louis»...
I had way too many macarons at Ladurée last February. I swore them off and now you are tempting me. :)
Also here, delicious....
Greetings
Yvi
I can manage just one and that's almost too much!
With this cold, I must certainly be losing weight ---- so if I arrive in Paris a little thinner, I can have an extra macaron, non?
In all my trips to Paris, I have yet to stop in at Laduree's, but I'm going to do it in April. A little dessert treat will be a nice way to say Happy 20th to Richard!
I understand that Harriet arrives soon. Maybe I can show her the way to Ladurée, which she obvioulsy has missed (and the I can also have some)?
Trader Joe's has macarons in their frozen section (chocolate and vanilla. The vanilla ones are really good).
Anne,
I'm heading to the BBG later today to find me some spring!
Yvi,
Delicious, oui!
Nadege,
I'm not sure about frozen ones. I've foundhere that if they keep them more than a day, they get too chewy. Not good.
Peter,
Oh Harriet must go and see the fabulous windows and have a taste and of course you must have one or two of your pistache macarons!
Harriet,
I think macarons might be just the cure for our horrible colds.
Jilly,
Just one! :)
James,
The bad thing about Paris is that no matter how hard you try and "stock up" on all the delights while you're there, when you return home, you still want more!
What a pretty place, I still dont like mararoons no matter how they are spelled ...
Stopped at Ladurée for café one day. We didn't have macarons, we had am éclair. But we bought a small box of petite macarons to go.
Last November when I was in Paris I went around taking pictures for future blogs, like my kindergarten and primary schools, etc. Then I decided to go back to my last job’s address which was on rue Lincoln, off the Champs Elysées. Was I surprised when I arrived there and saw that a Ladurée shop was at that corner. I just did not remember it. So we went inside and bought some macarons and cakes (I had never been in one of their shops.) I walked upstairs and saw how everything looks quite old. I just could not remember this shop at this corner. I asked one of the servers and found out that the shop at 75 Ave des Champs Elysees opened in 1997. That made me feel so much better because I had a scare – I thought - well, that’s it, my mind is going…
Vagabonde,
Oh I've not seen the Ladurée there. The one in the photo is near the Église de Madeleine. They are all so beutiful and their windows are just the best!!!! Glad you found that you're mind had NOT gone! HA
Ah, ah, ah, macarons in Paris ! I guess everyone has their favorite source... la Grenouille swears by Mulots, near St Sulpice...

Will have to go try Ladurée ! Merci Virginia ! One can never have too many macarons...
Dear Peter, I accept! Once in Paris, I will give you a call.
For as long as I was in Paris this was one place I didn't get to go to....I have heard that those macaroons are fabulous...even some ladies on the blogs that can recreate them...Love your black and whites by the way...
Sue,
Oh quelle dommage! And i'm glad you like the BW's. I will have more.
Owen,
My friend Shell Sherree has painted my photo of Gerard Mulot's macarons. A sweet taste of Paris, oui? :)
Harriet,
You and Peter are going to make me pout! HA
You're killing me, Virginia! Now not only am I craving Paris, but I'm craving macarons too. Specifically, I'm craving macarons IN Paris. It's too much, really. :~}
Oh my, this is all kinds of wonderful, V!!
