V. that theatre front is classic. I have read that La Marais is the best area to see Paris as it was 100 years ago, and it must be true. Your images certainly captured that from-the-past romance. Points, pyramids and diamonds from the Louvre are both nicely framed. And I never tire of seeing les boulangeries.
Yep ... love "Points" ... especially the off-centre ones ... I gather that the redevelopments of Haussmann in the second half of the 19th C left the Marais relatively untouched in comparison with other areas which were well nigh obliterated. When I was there in October, there was a lot of redevelopment of individual buildings occurring but nothing like re-location of entire road systems. However, I did much prefer the Latin Quarter where I was forever getting lost. Bit annoying for a country girl to be fooled by the sun ...
Once more, it seems that you have found the perfect Paris atmosphere.
By the way, I went to that small theatre last week (Ciné 13). (It seems to belong to Claude Lelouche.) Saw a fantastic monologue by a young fabulous actress (Sara Forestier). The chairs in the theatre are the most comfortable you could possibly find.
I think it is the 1st time I see this pyramids perspective. Well done! The Rodin museum photo makes me regret the fact I've never been there... Fantastic shot!
Oh my. Peter you should have corrected me. I see I put le Marais and it should be Montmartre . I will change that. Glad it's nice and comfy for the audience. I thought you were going to say hard wooden chairs! I remember you said you wanted to try this theatre. Glad you got the chance.
JM, if I have captured the Louvre like noone else I will be very pleaseed but very surprised. And the Musee Rodin is an absolute must in my book.
Julie, the Marais is a treasure trove for photographers. My photography tour was there and I took an obscene number of photos.
I am always surprised at the places you can take photos. Try taking these in London, the Tate. Lots of geometry, shape and form today which of course interested me to photography myself. Brilliant job on all. Isn't the light something else in Paris. Graey, oppressive and opaque, shouldn't work but it does.
We sometimes smile when listening to people imagining French people in a certain way but well the evidence is in your third picture: we are like that... I am sure that I would have wanted to take a picture like that during my five years stay in Paris I would not have been successful... lol Here is a hint for the quiz: it's round and metallic... and very easy to spot...
Therese, Oh he was easy, it was the guy on the steps with le vin a day or so ago that was "nervy" of me to shoot! I found the French to be very accomodating regarding photos etc. A simple "Bonjour, monsieur may I take you photo? " was all I needed. Oh and a big smile as well! V
Well KM you could have at least tried and explain your last comment for the good viewers who are all aghast thinking I am now some ..... well you know! HA Actually it's not me but KM that likes to throw in the occasional shock factor on HIS blog!! :)
B, The grey overcast skies are unforgiving. I have way too many blown out skies in my photos but can't do anything to correct it at this point. Any pointers for me?
V, The Paris Dept of Tourism should put you on staff! You are doing their beautiful city proud with your photos. It's impossible to pick favorites.

Love them all but the Diamonds at the Musee Rodin are stupendous.
