As we sat waiting in Charles de Gaulle Airport in 2008, I was mesmerized by this woman with her small boy. It was a long wait for such a small child, but he was delightful. I did that, "Should I ask to take his photo?" in my head for probably an hour. Finally, I just took my camera and held it up. She nodded. He was delighted to see his image in my screen. I'm glad I asked.

Wow V! What a capture. The vibrancy in their smiles and eyes shines through the wonderful colours. How nice of them to let you take their photo. A magical moment. Cover material. Cheers J.
I'm glad you did, too, Virginia. This is fabulous!
Ce qui est dommage, c'est de ne pas pouvoir partager la photo avec la personne photographiée.
Et moi aussi! Great portrait of two lovely smiles!
Lovely!
He is adorable. I love the framing of this shot.
Wow, nice portrait!
And I love your continually updating set of header photos!

No wonder you were captivated.
Alain,
She spoke no English ( or French for that matter) so it was not possible to get an address etc. I regret that as well.

And I'm glad you asked too—what a gorgeous portrait, V! (He looks just like the beautiful Ethiopian child a friend of mine adopted.)
Virginia, you nailed it with this one. Marvelous portrait. I am going to copy it and tell people I did it. OK?
She looks a bit long-in-the-tooth for that to be her child. Grandmother perhaps?
Virginia,
What a marvelous photo! I love the color the lady is wearing and the little guy is adorable. How nice that she let you snap a photo! :)
I LOVE this Virginia, thanks x
