What could be more delightful than to live in a divine rose apartment in Paris.

Chantel Thomass, Never Disappoints

Sometimes it's the window, and then when you have another look, it's the reflection. Chantal Thomass, always a delight.

The bridges of Paris, always a subject for my lens.

Joueurs d'échecs

Every single hour spent at the Jardin du Luxembourg brings so many images. I often wish I could just spend a few days just there, doing nothing but wandering, sitting and finding images.

P is for Polâine

Stop by 8 rue du Cherche-Midi and you will find Poilâne's charming flagship boulangerie. Dupuis 1932,  they still bake bread here and at their other locations like they always have. In November, 2013, we stayed in a lovely apartment just doors from this very special Paris boulangerie. Of course we bought several of these wonderful loaves and enjoyed with wine and cheese, many nights.

You all know Alexis by now. He has this lovely shop, just off Places des Vosges. He designs over the top wedding and evening gowns. Unlike many Parisian shop owners I've met over the years, and become friends with, Alexis more or less lets me have the run of his shop. He nods, turns his back and gets on his cell phone, smoking a mile a minute. I can accept that. Left on my own, I find things such a this lovely sketch and swatch on a chair! Merci Alexis.

La porte rouge

The side entrance to the beautiful Cathédrale de Troyes ( Cathédrale Saint-Pierre-et-Saint Paul de Troyes). Begun  in 1208 and finished in the 17 century, I'm always amazed that these remarkable churches have stood the test of time.

Guillon Fleurs  is a delightful flower shop that I've visited several times. The owner, Laurence, is a charming lady. The last trip she sent me on my way with a bouquet of  anemones.

Le zinc

If you are lucky enough to find one, you are lucky indeed. Zinc bars have been around, according to this article, as early as 1873.  This one in the Marais, caught my eye with it's marvelous detail glimmering in the light.

On The Road.... Nogent-sur-Seine

Have a look at these great doors!

I have a new book I've published for my church and am offering on BLURB. It features the Easter Season at Independent Presbyterian Church.

Paris Rouge - Pizza

I've had some really good pizza in Paris. I think this charming place must have the best in town, what with all that rouge!

Les géraniums

Even in November, the geraniums in Paris flourish. It's just amazing.

Nicely dressed for a stroll through the Palais Royal. Perhaps monsieur is a shop owner or going to do a little shopping.

La tour des chaises

I would have loved to have been there with my camera when the waiters were stacking these chairs!

Mors Doré

All too often I find myself in Paris on what I call the Paris fast track. We are always so anxious to see it all, eat and drink it all, but more than that, shoot it all, that we don't have time to sit and soak up Paris. This last trip while spending a day alone,  to wander and and explore, late in the afternoon I sought the small, quiet place Dauphine. This afternoon I was totally alone there. I'd walked a lot, so I found a bench, took a deep breath, and just soaked up the moment. Mors Doré caught my eye, are you surprised?  When I returned home and found this image I Googled it and alas, it was in French ( the very idea!) so I sought Peter's help. He tells me it's a book binding shop. The lagniappe is the man in the upper window that I just discovered.

Bienvenue printemps!

Missing bouquets of fresh flowers on the streets, missing springtime in Paris!

Ouvert, fermer

Shutters in Paris. I could shoot them all day long. Probably have.

Pâques chapeaux

One of my most favorite shops in all of Paris is Ultramod's Millinery.  It's a walk back in time. Choose your hats, brims, trims.......the possibilities are endless. If I'm lucky enough to get back to Paris, I think I will go to Ultramod alone and spend as much time as my heart desires there.

CDP Theme Day - Self Portrait

1 avril, which means another City Daily Photo Theme Day. This month's theme is Self Portrait. I had a few choices as I sometimes like to catch myself in a Paris window. I chose this one today from 2014, when my dear Paris ami Peter ( Peter's Paris) was caught with me in this window. It's a perfect choice because Peter is often by my side in Paris, leading the way to new places to enjoy and photograph!
