Boys will be boys, no matter where they live. These school boys were having a fine time feeding the pigeons their leftover lunch chips in the area between the Palais de Tokyo and the Musée d'Art Moderne de la Ville Paris. Although I've not visited the Palais de Tokyo, I highly recommend the Musée d'Art Moderne!

Boulangerie Reflet
This little boulangerie just down the street from my little studio apartment, was reflected in the mirror of the laundromat across the street.
Today I join James' Weekend Reflections right here!

Le Chef
Genie and I arrived VERY early last November. It was so early, that after we got settled in our flat, we decided that a nap was in order. Let me add that I NEVER nap when I arrive in Paris, but we did. When we woke up, it was about 11:00 a.m. Paris time, so we headed towards Bon Marché and found a nice little café. As I recall, we had omelletes, salades et pain. Perhaps wine was involved. From our table we were able to observe le chef. I am always amazed at the wonderful food that the French produce in a kitchen the size of my walk in closet. Vive la France!

Une Invitation
Today I share, not one of my photographs, but an invitation for those of you in Paris. I was contacted by a high school student, lucky and talented enough to be chosen to study in Paris for National Geographic, with photographer Tino Soriano. These young photographers are exhibiting their work tomorrow evening, and Amanda found my blog and asked me to publicize. I do so with great pleasure. I can't be there for this event but hope that some of my Paris friends might stop by and oohh and ahhh on my behalf. My blog world never ceases to amaze me and open doors.

Bon Fête de Nationale!
14 juillet, 2009 I stood on a bridge with my friend Peter Olson and took this shot ( a LOT of shots). I think this evening must take the "MY BEST PARIS MOMENT" award for all time. Merci Peter for planning this so that I could share this wonderful event with you and all of Paris from the perfect vantage point!

Sunday Church Series - L'Ecoute
On its own, Saint Eustache is one of my favorite churches in Paris, but Henri de Miller's sculpture is what I love about Paris, never afraid to mix the really old architecture with new and contemporary art. Henri de Miller's L'Écoute ( Listen) is a suprising delight for adults, children and of course photographers!

Olivia
Today we meet Olivia Clétienne, who does restorative work in her studio at Village Saint Paul in the Marais. I took several shots before she heard the click of my camera but was kind enough to allow more photos.

Paris Rouge - la Tasse
As I came around the corner of Village Saint Paul in the Marais, I spotted the red cup first then the artist painting in the doorway. You will meet her tomorrow.

Été á Paris
Summer at Place des Vosges. I love the way Parisians just plop down in a park and enjoy the afternoon. They don't feel the need to lug fold up chairs with cup holders, umbrellas, huge coolers with drinks and food, picnic blankets, and a variety of games to pass the time.
How about doing the Happy Dance in Paris today!

Opèra Bastille
I've passed this opera house in the Marais many times but never been inside.
Sadly, I have found the area around, especially along the Métro station, not be to be well kept by the City of Paris. Your thoughts?

Jardin d'acclimatation
If you've not visited Paris with children, then I'm fairly certain you've never taken this little boat ride through the Jardin d'acclimatation at the Bois de Boulogne. In the summer of 2009, we spent a lovely day with our Birmingham friends, the Wilsons. This shady ride ended with a gentle spray of water, a welcome relief from the warm summer day in Paris.

Opèra de national de Paris
Another view from the rooftop of Galeries Lafayette. Eventually I'll run out but until then, take a deep breath and enjoy.

CDP Theme Day - Celebrating Summer
Nothing says été in Paris like Paris Plage. Since 2002, the city of Paris brings in sand, pools, deck chairs and turns the Seine into a beach from the middle of July to August. What a delight for the citizens and tourists alike.
