I never tire of photographing these exquisite details.

Reflet dans le miroir

While waiting for our lunch, I watched our waiter in the mirrored wall.

Deux fenêtres

Not a chic street in Paris but charming nonetheless.

Les mains

Our first morning in Paris, January 2010, we awoke to a lovely snowfall.  As Mary and I made our way to the Métro through the Palais Royal, we discovered this beautiful photography exhibit.  I wish I had been able to spend more time with each photograph but was a bit distracted with finally experiencing la neige. The choices I have to make in Paris!

La trottinette

Scooters seem to be the preferred mode of travel for the children of Paris. I'm always amused to see adults using them as well. Of course it wasn't the scooter that caught me eye, it was le petit garçon's glorious curls!

Couturier

Alexis in the Marais, has long been a favorite spot to photograph.  His exquisite, over the top gowns are a delight.

This was too fabulous to pass up!

Les Feuilles

I think November in Paris may be stealing my heart for my favorite time of the year.  There was so much to love: the colors of the turning leaves, the geraniums on balconies STILL in full bloom, moderate weather, the city decked out for Christmas and..........not so many tourists!

Hôtel-Dieu de Paris, the oldest hospital in Paris located on the banks of Île de la Cité.  When you hang out in Paris with Peter Olson, you visit all kinds of wonderful places that the usual visitors never see!

L'escalier

Those of you who have been lucky enough to visit Paris and stay in an apartment,  know staircases like these oh so very well. They often dip in the middle from wear, and can be a very long trek up after a full day of walking Paris streets.  As much as I have cursed them when I'm dragging my luggage up,  I still love how charming they are, especially on the way down!

Sunday Church Series - La porte

I think often we're so anxious to get inside the beautiful churches of Paris that we overlook the obvious.  The doors are just as interesting as the interiors.  Stop and enjoy.

Passy

Cimetière de Passy is one of my favorite Paris resting places. It's small and doable and so close to the Eiffel Tower, you can see her from almost any vantage point.  I love the beautiful porcelain wreaths, and crosses laid on graves in Paris. This day, it had just rained and fallen leaves made this a very special   remembrance.

Attente

The waiters at Ma Bourgogne at Place des Vosges have caught my eye for  many photographs.  While enjoying a glass of wine, I shot this from afar. I love the pens in his pocket, the bow tie, the vest. C'est Paris!  I love finding cafes in Paris where I feel comfortable enough to sit and enjoy a glass of wine or a salad alone.

Arm in Arm

Ladies, young and old often walk arm in arm in Paris. I love that.

Sourires

These two charming young ladies were enjoying the wonderful photography exhibit in front of the Hôtel de Ville this morning last November.  Visiting Paris from I can't remember where in Europe, they seemed as happy as I was to be there!

Les mannequins

Passage du Grand Cerf, built in 1825, was my favorite passage this trip.  Well kept with interesting specialty shops, even one just for mannequins!

Late one summer afternoon, I was strolling back to my apartment in the Marais.

L'escalier

Another hidden gem in Paris, le Musée Jacquemart-André.  The staircase is almost worth the trip.

Un poulet svp

I have had the pleasure of meeting and photographing this delightful man since June, 2009.  I always stop by and say, "Bonjour" and he always welcomes me with a warm smile and delicious roasted chickens on rue Mouffetard.  I love reconnecting with wonderful Parisian friends when I visit.

UPDATE: Thanks to Jeff's comment and Alexa's help, I have connected with Christophe and his lovely wife Janice who is a talented writer and artist and blogger. You can follow her blog here!

CDP Theme Day - Zest

Zest (noun)- 1. Lively excitement: a feeling of enjoyment and enthusiasm.

Today, City Daily Photobloggers around the world are posting their take on this month's theme, ZEST.  This was challenging but once I started my little series this week featuring our afternoon at the Palais Royal, this photo seemed perfect.  Ethan spotted those roses, and before we could intervene, he grabbed a handful and threw the petals in the air with zest and a giggle of delight!
