At The Risk.......

of boring you silly with fall leaves in Paris...... I post yet another. I hope you will bear with me. I've not seen any color or leaves in Paris for about three years as I always visit in January. This trip was an absolute delight, filled with geraniums, Virginia Creeper and the fall leaves. I couldn't resist.

Où sont les enfants?

This cold, gray afternoon this sweet little play yard beside Notre Dame was very quiet.

Le Pain de Paris

While we're all stuffing ourselves with turkey, dressing etc. here in the U.S., Parisians are queuing up to buy warm baguettes, which for me is a wonderful substitute.  I've been gone for less than a week, and just looking at this photograph makes my mouth water.

This Thanksgiving, I'm grateful for all of you that stop by this blog and read/comment. It brings me great pleasure to share my photographs of Paris with you.  I hope you will come back often for new photos from this last trip!

Automne à Paris - Fontaine Medicis

As many of you know, I've traveled to Paris in January for the last four years. It's easier for me to travel at that time but I have longed to see Paris in another season. This November trip, I found her in all her autumn splendor.  I'll be sharing some favorites for the next week or so. Today, a late afternoon stroll through the Jardin du Luxembourg, and the leaves falling around the Medici Fountain, made it even more beautiful.

Photo Month in Paris - Yousuf Karsh

If you love Paris and you love photography, then November is the month you need to go!  For the entire month, fabulous exhibits, many free, are offered all over Paris from the Grand Palais to the smallest galleries.  We didn't opt for the extravaganza Paris Photo, at the Grand Palais, but in one day saw three terrific exhibits, at no cost.  Today we visit the Mona Bismarck American Center, just across the Seine from la Tour Eiffel.  The Yousuf Karsh exhibit was excellent.  You might not have know his name but you certainly would know his work.

Paris Rouge - Aéroport Charles de Gaulle

I'm back from a wonderful 10 days in Paris and a bit weary tonight.  I hope to have some fresh photos downloaded by tomorrow, but for today, a parting shot taken yesterday with my iPhone at Aéroport Charles de Gaulle, just before we left.

Mémorial des Martyrs de la Déportation

If you have not visited this moving memorial in Paris, please put it on your list.  Located just behind Notre Dame de Paris, it is a fitting memorial to 200,000 who were deported from Vichy, France to the Nazi concentration camps in World War II.

Sharing

The cotton candy at the Hôtel de Ville is irresistable. This jeune fille had a bite and then shared with Maman.

On a cold January day after ice skating at the Hôtel de Ville, what could be better than a warm gaufre avec Nutella??  I will admit, I almost grabbed it out of his hand!!!

Hiver

In winter, Paris is cold and gray but it still makes my heart sing!

Wheeeeeeeeee!

It poured rain all morning, then at noon the sun came out and all over Paris we ran outside to savor the blue skies. This petite jeune fille grabbed her scooter and raced through the Buren Columns!

CDP Theme Day - Heights

I don't like to let an opportunity pass when I can brag on the fact that I've climbed up the one million steps to the dome of the Sacre Coeur, not once, but TWICE!  This from my second trip up and my LAST I can assure you.

Today I join City Daily Photobloggers around the world who are posting their take on our theme of HEIGHTS this month. Click  HERE to see them all.
